Invitation Plan and Guidelines for KNWW Regional Workshop (Dec 7-8, 2024)

Congratulations again on advancing to the Regional Round of Katha National Writers’ Workshop 2024! We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked diligently to accommodate everyone's best possible schedule. Your enthusiasm and commitment to this journey have been incredible. 

After careful consideration and coordination with schools and other logistical factors, we are excited to invite you to participate in the Regional Round (East and West). As a notable exception, these rounds will be conducted online to accommodate the realities and convenience for your children, ensuring they do not miss out on this opportunity. 

The rounds are scheduled as follows:

Regional Round Schedule

Saturday, December 7, 2024: [English - Grades 4-7]

• English Grades 4-7: Fiction/Non-Fiction/Poetry (Session 1): 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM 
• English Grades 4-7: Writing time: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM and Submission Window: 5:30 PM – 5:40 PM  

Sunday, December 8, 2024: [English - Grades 8-12]

• English Grades 8-12: Fiction/Non-Fiction/Poetry (Session 1): 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM  
• English Grades 8-12: WRITING time 1:30 PM – 2: 30 PM and Submission Window: 2:30-2:40

Sunday, December 8, 2024: [Hindi ALL Grades 4-12]

• Hindi ALL Grades 4-12: Fiction/Non-Fiction/Poetry: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM  
• Hindi ALL Grades 4-12:  WRITING time 6:30 PM – 7:20 PM and Submission Window: 7:20 PM – 7:30 PM  

Important Instructions

1.     Registration Deadline:  

Please register by December 5th, 2024 (11:59 PM).  Use the provided Zoom link (to be shared via email) to access your session. Changes to your registered session will not be allowed. https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0kfu-opjwqEtcJiqkFeuoyRHhacfZ0D63X

2.     Punctuality and Attendance:  

• Be on time for your session. Late arrivals will not be permitted to log in.  
• Your video must remain ON throughout the session
• The microphone must be MUTED. Please raise your hand to unmute. If any participant makes a disturbing noise, the admin may dismiss the participant. 
• Ensure a strong internet connection. Excuses related to poor network quality will not be entertained.  

3.     Proctoring Rules for writing and submissions:  

• Please ensure you are in a QUIET room with no external noise. The admin may dismiss the participant if there is any disturbing noise from any participant. 
• Your video AND microphone MUST remain ON throughout the session.  
• Parents or others must not be in the room during the session.  
• Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification.  

4.     Round 2 Submissions at Regionals:  

• This will be a HANDWRITTEN submission
• Writing exercises will be conducted ONLINE under proctored conditions.  
• Topics for writing will be shared at the beginning of the writing session.  
• Topics for writing will be shared at the beginning of the writing time.
• You will submit your work as a *.PNG *JPG or *PDF file via Google Forms within the provided timeframes (details above). The file must be named FirstName_mobilenumber__Grade_city.pdf
• The system will automatically stop accepting submissions, and late submissions will not be accepted.  

Submission Process

You will receive a Google Forms link for your regional submission during your session. You must upload your completed work as a PNG/ JPG/ PDF File along with your Name, Email ID, Phone Number, and Grade.
