KATHA NATIONAL WRITERS’ WORKSHOP 

South Regional Round – Bengaluru

📅 November 15 & 16, 2025 (Saturday & Sunday)
📍 Delhi Public School (North), Bagalur Post, Jala Hobli, Bengaluru – 562149, Karnataka
🕗 Timings: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.


Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the South Regional Round of Katha Utsav 2025!
To ensure a smooth, enriching, and enjoyable experience for every child and parent, please carefully review these guidelines before the event.

1. Eligibility

All students who were selected in Round 1 (online submission) and have completed their registration on utsav.katha.org are eligible to participate.

2. Registration and Food Payment

Registration ensures your child’s seat in the workshop and participation in all sessions.
 Payment for food covers lunch and snacks for both days.

⚠️ Breakfast is not included.
Please ensure your child eats at home before arrival.
A paid canteen facility is available on campus for parents and early arrivals. (By 9:15 a.m., please be seated in the auditorium (5th floor) for the inaugural ceremony and keynote address)

3. Attendance and Eligibility for Certificate

  • Registered participants must attend both days of the workshop to be eligible for certificates and to be evaluated for the next round.
  • Absentees or single-day participants will not be eligible

4. Workshop Programme

The detailed programme and room allocation will be shared at the venue during registration.
 Participants will be guided by their mentors and volunteers to their respective classrooms.

5. On the Day of the Event

Step 1: Entry

  • Please use Gate No. 2 of the entry school.
  • Parking is available within the premises at the far end of the Takshashila Block.

Step 2: Registration

  • The event takes place in the Takshashila Block.
  • Complete registration at the desks outside the entrance on the road.
  • Check your child’s name, school name and assigned room number in the list displayed near the registration area.  All rooms are on the 4th floor.
  • Complete the registration and collect the blue wristband that has to be worn for both days.
  • Our Help Desk at the entrance of Takshashila Block will be available for any queries.

Step 3: Inauguration

  • By 9:15 a.m., please be seated in the auditorium (5th floor) for the inaugural ceremony and keynote address.
  • Parents will attend a special interactive session during this time, while students will move to their classrooms with mentors after the inauguration.

Step 4: Workshops

  • After the inaugural sessions, there will be a session at 11 am in the same auditorium. Please continue to be seated.
  • There are panel discussions planned at 2:30 pm on Day 1, 11:30 pm and 2:30 pm on Day 2. This is about AI, children, and Writing. Please be there. Please check blogs.
  • On day 2, there will be a session at 9:30 am in the same auditorium on Learning Gone Wild.
  •

Step 4: Explore the Book Stalls

  • Visit the Story Space in the registration area and auditorium foyer.
  • Browse curated books for children, parents, and teachers.

·       Arrive Early: Reach by 8:00 a.m. for a smooth registration.

·       Carry Essentials:

o   School ID card

o   Basic stationery (pens, pencils, notebook, crayons/colour pencils, erasers, sharpener)

o   Water bottle

·       Dress Comfortably: No uniforms required. Light, comfortable attire recommended.

·       Be Engaged: Encourage your child to ask questions, interact, and explore creativity.

·       Respect the Schedule: Punctuality helps everyone.

·       Stay with Mentors: Participants must remain with their mentors during sessions.

·       Lunch Timings:

o   Parents are requested to have lunch before 12:30 p.m. or after 2:00 p.m.

o   Participants will have lunch with mentors and will not be allowed to leave campus during sessions.

·       Relax and Enjoy: Allow your child space to learn and connect. Avoid hovering — independence builds confidence.

🚫 DON’Ts

·       ❌ Don’t be late — late arrivals delay registration and sessions.

·       ❌ Don’t forget essentials — ID cards and stationery are mandatory.

·       ❌ Don’t leave early — full attendance ensures learning and eligibility.

·       ❌ Don’t disrupt sessions — keep the atmosphere calm and respectful.

·       ❌ Don’t bring valuables — avoid large bags or electronic gadgets.

·       ❌ Don’t interfere during workshops — children learn best when they explore independently.

·       ❌ Don’t ignore health — water and first-aid are available; inform coordinators if needed.

·       ❌ Don’t hesitate to ask — our Help Desk and volunteers are always there to guide you.
